Hon. Kevin Andrews opens New Luxury Aged Care Wing at Menarock Life Willowbrae Templestowe
On 18 August 2018, the Hon. Kevin Andrews MP officially opened the new Menarock Life 16 bed luxury addition to its Willowbrae home in Templestowe Melbourne.
Mr Andrews commented on the spacious rooms and high ceilings in the new wing adding that he was impressed by the amenities on offer.
The High Tea was enjoyed by invited guests including Cr Geoff Gough representing the Mayor of the City of Manningham as well as residents, families community members and staff.
Mr Andrews declared the new wing open unveiling the plaque with Menarock Life Directors Andrew Seamer and Craig Holland. The occasion was marked by speeches including one from former Salvation Army Major and resident of 8 years, Rob Cassidy.
The project commenced in February 2017 and was architecturally designed by Roy Hodgson Design Group and constructed by Equisent Group and has been overseen closely by the current residents of Willowbrae.
The new 2 story wing backs onto Westerfolds Park, over 120 hectares of recreational and environmental parkland. situated beside the Yarra River in Templestowe.
The new wing doubles the amount of living space available for the residents with an additional lounge/dining room on the ground floor plus library/activities room on the first floor. There are 2 kitchenettes for use when family and friends come to visit.
High quality fixtures and fittings have been used throughout and the living areas have been decorated with contemporary furnishings, artwork and window coverings. The existing wings of the home are also undergoing extensive refurbishment.
